Perfectionism and attitudes towards sport psychology support and mental health support in athletes: A test of the 2x2 model of perfectionism

Attitudes towards help-seeking will contribute to whether athletes ask for support for performance and mental health issues when needed. Outside of sport, research has found perfectionism is related to negative attitudes towards help-seeking. Inside of sport, Watson et al. (2021) recently found that perfectionism predicted attitudes towards both sport psychology support and mental health support in athletes.
