Terapia riabilitativa con assistenza di animali: prospettive della pet-therapy

The interest in the use of animals as a therapeutic aid for human rehabilitation is very ancient. However, applications aimed at rehabilitation in the case of autism, cognitive degeneration and dementia syndromes are relatively recent. This thesis makes a review of the scientific literature aimed at the application standards of therapy with assistance of animals or Pet Therapy with autistic subjects, Alzheimer's type syndromes and with the use of dogs and horses. The systematic and detailed examination of some clinical studies allows us to validate Pet Therapy for its therapeutic and rehabilitative efficacy.
