资源简介:
This repository contains the data of 111 French participants gathered through a self-paced reading experiment and questionnaire that investigates the effect of perspective (first vs. third person) on immersion into the story. We also analyze the effect of being addressed with an unexpected (in this case, informal) pronoun on readers' reports of immersion. The results show that stories written in first person (je, 'I') lead to higher immersion reports than third person (elle, 'she', il 'he'). Furthermore, receiving an unexpected pronoun of address (tu, informal 'you') seems to overrule the effect of first-person perspective on reported immersion. Reading times obtained via the self-paced reading task did not yield any significant differences in reading behavior. The report of these results has been published as part of the Special Issue of Languages 2024, 9(8), 265; https://doi.org/10.3390/languages9080265.
