A paved sidewalk is visible behind the palm trees, while a picket fence is visible next to the sidewalk. Buildings and small trees are slightly visible behind the fence, while dirt is visible to the left of the palm trees from the foreground running to the left background. A pile of dead tree branches is visible at left. Photoprint reads: "On the Shasta Route of the Southern Pacific".
