Mineralogical Characterization of Chlorite-Illite Deposits in the Western Qaidam Basin

This dataset includes the XRD, SEM, TEM, FTIR and NIR data of the chlorite-illite deposits collected from western Qaidam Basin. Mineralogical analysis shows clinochlore and illite as the main clay components deposited as detrital particles. Electron microscopic observations of small rusty concretions from yardang deposits revealed that amorphous ferrihydrite formed in fractures.
