Gut microbial profiling identifies characterization of Non-Obstructive Azoospermia Men

Non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) is a complex multifactorial disease and the causes of most NOA remain unknown. Here, we performed comprehensive clinical and gut microbial profiling data through shotgun metagenomic sequencing in NOA patients and control individuals. A significant loss of alpha and beta diversity was identified in faecal specimens from NOA patients. These results highlight the utility of gut microbiota in understanding microbiota-related pathogenesis of male infertility and might be helpful to clinical management of NOA.
