We used RNA-Seq to compare a parental M28 isolate with an isogenic mutant in which the RD2 element had been deleted. Parental M28 isolate MGAS6180 and an RD2 deletion mutant derivative (M28ΔRD2) were compared following growth in THY broth to the exponential phase of growth (an O.D.600 of 0.5).
