资源简介:
As in the previous Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) conducted in 1990, 1997, 2002 and 2007 in Jordan, the primary objective of the 2009 Jordan Population and Family Health Survey (JPFHS) is to provide reliable estimates of demographic parameters, such as fertility, family planning, fertility preferences, and child mortality as well as the nutritional status of women and children. The data from these surveys can be used by program managers and policy makers to evaluate and improve existing programs. In addition, the JPFHS data will be useful to researchers and scholars interested in analyzing demographic trends in Jordan, as well as those conducting comparative, regional, or cross-national studies. The content of the 2009 JPFHS has been significantly decreased from the 2007 survey: it does not include data on mother and child health, reproductive health, women’s status, domestic violence, and early childhood development. However, a sub-sample of women age 15-49 and children age 6-59 months were tested to measure the prevalence of anemia. Height and weight of all women age 15-49 and children age five and under were also measured to assess their nutritional status.
