Confocal microscopy and DAB staining images for the hooked hairs project

Confocal microscopy images showing the physiological response of the hooked hairs to phosphate uptake by activating the phosphatase activity. The ELF97 reagent was used as a fluorescent probe to explore phosphatase activity. ELF97 reacts with phosphates, creating a green signal by excitation with UV and the emission at 530 nm. Moreover, we explore the suberin deposition in the hooked hair. Using a fluorescent dye Fluorol Yellow 088 (that binds to suberin), which produces a yellow fluorescence with UV excitation.
