资源简介:
A total of 12 bulk soil samples from aIluvial-fan deposits were floated to recover organic materials suitable for radiocarbon analysis. Ten of the samples were recovered from two paleoseismic fault trench exposures and a soil pit across the Nephi segment of the Wasatch fault in central Utah(Santaquin trench site-STBS), while two samples were taken from a soil-pit exposure approximately 200 m northwest of the trench site (SQPBS). Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated. Charcoal from these samples was submitted for AMS radiocarbon analysis to the Center for AMS Graphite Laboratory at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, California.
