Former melt films preserved along subgrain and grain boundaries were investigated using a combined Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) approach in migmatitic aluminous schists from the Wet Mountains of central Colorado. We determined the quartz grains that host the former melt was deformed but the former melt films themselves are undeformed, indicating quartz deformation precedes melting. Here, we include EBSD data for quartz, plagioclase, and K-feldspar (.ctf files) to show that the former melt (feldspar) is undeformed.
