The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of depleting the NURF chromatin remodeling complex from mouse embryonic stem cells. To this end we deleted the BPTF subunit of NURF and measured its effects on chromatin structure and gene expression on mouse embryonic stem cells. These results have two fold relevance. They will deepen our understanding of how chromatin remodeling complexes function in the cell, and because NURF has relevance to cancer it also deepens our understanding of how it could function in cancer.
