Microbial and planktonic community characteristics in Eriocheir sinensis culture ponds with harmful algal blooms

The Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis (H. Milne Edwards), is an important economic aquaculture species in China. It is in great demand among a growing number of Chinese consumers, thus raises a higher request for the ecological culture of E. sinensis. Aiming to break through the bottlenecks, i.e., pond moss and cyanobacteria, we investigated the microbial community and plankton composition of the ponds with filamentous algae and cyanobacterial blooms.
