NRS-506 | Instruction Manuals [Board of Fire Commissioners]

These manuals are produced for all firefighters, probationary officers and volunteer fire fighters. There are both general manuals which cover all facets of firefighting procedures and equipment, fire protection techniques, fire-station duties and special instructions are provided for examinable subjects. Some manuals cover only specific subjects such as handling particular types of equipment. Most are published by NSW Fire Brigades and its predecessor agencies although some are published by other organisations and have been adopted as standards.
