Transcriptome of pre-diabetic and diabetic macrophages

In this study, we performed bulk RNA-sequencing for pre-diabetic-M1, diabetic-M1, pre-diabetic-M2, diabetic-M2 macrophages. Transcriptomic profiling of macrophages under hyperglycemia revealed the distinct phenotype of macrophages, especially altered metabolism and pro-inflammatory cytokine production. These findings demonstrated chronic exposure to hyperglycemic environment can modulate the immunological functions of macrophages.
