We generated 3000 near-random combinations (column labelled ‘Sets’ below) of 20 unconstrained parameters by Latin hypercube sampling and systematically eliminated unrealistic sets of parameters in a series of calibration studies. In each study, we populated our computational model with the remaining parametric sets before attempting to reproduce an experimentally observed phenomenon.
