Galaxy and Dark Matter Halo Shape Measurements from Cold Dark Matter Simulations

This repository contains the processed data used in our paper A MARVEL-ous study of how well galaxy shapes reflect Dark Matter halo shapes in Cold Dark Matter Simulations, which can be used to reproduce the figures presented in the publication. The dataset includes: Shape measurements of dark matter and stellar matter at 1 and 2 effective radii for our sample of simulated galaxies (galaxy_shapes_reff1.txt and galaxy_shapes_reff2.txt) Shape measurements through mergers (MergerShapes.txt) Comparison between different supernova feedback types, blastwave and superbubble (SB_BW_data.2.txt) Reference images showing each simulated galaxy in both face-on and side-on orientations (.png files)
