NEXRAD Great Plains 2013-2015

We processed unfiltered (i.e., level-II) <b>W</b>eather <b>S</b>urveillance <b>R</b>adar 19<b>88</b> <b>D</b>oppler (WSR-88D) data from 20 radar stations covering a large portion of the central USA from spring 2013 to spring 2015. To investigate spring behaviors, we acquired radar data from NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information for the period 1 March to 31 Mayof each year. Measures include the migration track, heading, and intensity for at intervals of tenths of the night (i.e. deciles). Mean height (meters above ground level) is derived relative to the radar site. Ground speed was derived from radial velocity VAD measures and airspeed characterizes the self propelled speed of migrants moving through the radar coverage area calculated by vector subtraction using NARR wind speed and direction. LATITUDE_N and LONGITUDE_W are the locations of the radar sites (radar_ID). Data are linked with eBird derived body mass (bdy.avg in grams) within the radar coverage area.
