PDSS2 and Prostate

In this study we tested the notion that PDSS2 expression is greater in non-neoplastic prostate tissue than in neoplastic tissue and that PDSS2-positive neoplasms are relatively indolent due to the maintenance of the mitochondrial pathway. To do so, we submitted neoplastic and non-neoplastic tissues to immunohistochemistry in search for possible associations between PDSS2 positivity and biochemical persistence, biochemical recurrence and biochemical failure after adjuvant therapy and radio/hormone salvage therapy

本研究旨在验证PDSS2表达在非肿瘤性前列腺组织中相较于肿瘤性组织更为显著的观点，并探讨PDSS2阳性肿瘤之所以相对惰性，系因线粒体途径的维持。为此，我们将肿瘤性和非肿瘤性组织提交进行免疫组织化学分析，以探究PDSS2阳性状态与辅助治疗后及放疗/激素挽救治疗后的生化持续性、生化复发和生化失败之间的潜在关联。
