Dataset Assessing Compliance with Smoke-Free Public Places in Purbakhola, Nepal

This dataset contains data collected for assessing compliance with smoke-free public places in Purbakhola Rural Municipality, Nepal. The study used an observational design to assess adherence to smoke-free provisions in public places including government offices, health facilities, educational institutions, hospitality venues, and public transportation settings. Data were collected using a structured observation checklist adapted from national tobacco control guidelines and WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) recommendations. Variables include presence of smoking, availability of no-smoking signage, cigarette butts, ashtrays, tobacco sales, and enforcement indicators. The dataset supports analysis of compliance levels, enforcement gaps, and opportunities for strengthening smoke-free policy implementation in Nepal. This dataset is anonymized and contains no personal identifiers
