Campos académicos más allá de la dicotomía centro-periferia / Academic Fields Beyond the Center-Periphery Dichotomy

Este trabajo muestra que las ciencias sociales argentinas constituyen lo que llamamos un campo intermedio con sus propias instituciones, incentivos y circuitos de consagración, que mitiga las influencias del centro académico. Utiliza como muestra los tres artículos más citados de los investigadores más internacionalizados, aquellos pertenecientes al Conicet (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Tecnológicas) de las Comisiones de Sociología y Ciencia, generamos redes de co-citaciones con lo cual definimos comunidades temáticas de investigadores y exploramos sus particularidades. Encontramos que predominan citas a autores argentinos y temáticas de importancia local promovida por las publicaciones de lengua castellana. This article shows that the Argentine social sciences conform what we call an intermediate field with its own institutions, incentives, and promotion criteria, which weakens the influence of the academic Center. Using a sample of the three most cited articles by the researchers in the Committees of Sociology and Political Science of Conicet (National Scientific and Technical Research Council), the most internationalized in the scientific system, we generate networks of co-citation of the same authors. Based on those, we find thematic communities and the predominance of references to Argentine authors.
