This dataset is provided as supplementary research data for the preprint “Accelerated Aging Signatures in 3D Genome Organization and Transcriptome in Schizophrenia” (DOI: https://doi.org/10.64898/2026.05.25.727571). Brain tissue samples were obtained from the National BioService (St. Petersburg, Russia) with informed consent provided by donors or their next of kin. Schizophrenia cases were diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia by at least two independent assessments by experienced psychiatrists, and control subjects were confirmed to be free of brain pathology by medical pathologists. All subjects died suddenly from causes unrelated to brain function. Brain tissue was collected within 24 hours postmortem, frozen, and stored at −80°C. Frozen tissue sections (20 μm) were prepared using a Leica Biosystems Leica CM1950 cryostat, fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde, and immunostained with Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated antibodies against NeuN and counterstained with DAPI. Images were acquired using a Carl Zeiss AG Zeiss LSM 800 Airyscan confocal microscope equipped with a Plan-Apochromat 40×/1.3 Oil objective. The repository contains original .czi files used for nuclear morphometry and biological age analyses in schizophrenia. The repository contains one .tar.gz archive for each donor. Each archive includes the original .czi confocal microscopy files acquired from that donor. These raw image files were used for nuclear morphometry and biological age analyses in schizophrenia.
