资源简介:
The North American beaver (Castor canadensis) is one of two extant beaver species, along with the Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber). It is native to North America and has been introduced in South America (Patagonia) and Europe (primarily Finland and Karelia) (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a female individual found in Saint Peter, Minnesota, was coordinated by Ryan Langlois to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). The sample consists of ~6 million primary dermal fibroblasts at p6, not transformed. Sex was determined based on finding the X chromosome only in the assembly. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
