Couple adjustment &distress in primary infertility

This dataset was generated from a multicentre cross-sectional study conducted between 18 July and 1 December 2022 at three governmental infertility clinics in Muscat, Oman: Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, the Royal Hospital, and Wattayah Polyclinic. The study included 306 Omani women diagnosed with primary infertility who were recruited using convenience sampling. The dataset contains 89 variables covering recruitment site; participants’ age, education, employment, family income, residence, and family structure; husbands’ education and employment; marriage and infertility duration; and previous infertility treatment, treatment location, and treatment duration. It also contains item-level responses to the 21-item Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), the 12-item Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support adapted for Arab immigrant women (MSPSS-AW), and the 14-item Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS), together with corrected subscale and total scores. The study examined the independent associations of perceived social support and women’s perceived couple adjustment with depression, anxiety, and stress after accounting for sociodemographic, recruitment-site, and infertility-related characteristics. Direct identifiers, including names, telephone numbers, contact information, and medical-record numbers, are not included. Limited missing data are present for women’s employment status, husbands’ education, and family structure. A data dictionary and reproducible scoring and analysis syntax should be consulted before using the dataset.
