The goal of this project was to sequence and assemble a Northern Goshawk genome for the mainland North American subspecies (Accipiter gentilis atricapillus). This assembly was then used to reanalyze previous Northern Goshawk genomic data that had been compared to the Bald Eagle reference genome. This previous analysis was presented in this paper: Geraldes, A.*, K. Askelson*, E. Nikelski, F.I. Doyle, W.L. Harrower, K. Winker, and D.E. Irwin. 2019.
