Draft genome assembly and annotation of Coelastrella sp. UAM-C/S07 isolated from Chalchoapan Lake, Mexico.

The genus Coelastrella shows promise due to its capacity to accumulate carotenoids such as astaxanthin and canthaxanthin, and a lipid profile well- suited for biodiesel production. In this study, the genome of a Coelastrella sp. strain isolated from a sample collected in Lake Chalchoapan (Veracruz, Mexico) was analyzed to evaluate its potential as a strain capable of producing carotenoids and high-value fatty acids.
