A) Cell survival. RAW264.7 cells were incubated for 24 h with the various combinations of zonarol and LPS, as indicated in the figure. The cell viability was determined using the MTT assay. Note that there were no significant differences in the viability of any of the treated cells compared to the normal or positive control cells. B) NO production. The LPS-induced NO production was inhibited by zonarol in a dose-dependent manner in RAW264.7 cells. The RAW264.7 cells were treated with combinations of LPS and zonarol for 24 h, and the NO concentrations were determined using the Griess reagent. The values are the means ± SD from four separate measurements. * and ** Significant differences (P<0.05 and 0.001, respectively) compared with the 0 µg/mL LPS- and 0 µM zonarol-treated cells (normal control) or the 10 µg/mL LPS- and zonarol 0 (positive control) or 1 µM-treated cells.
