Epilithic bacterial assemblages shaped by distance and flow direction near macroalgae

The goal is to assess the effects of distance and flow direction on the diversity and composition of bacterial assemblages sampled on substrates conditionned during 4 weeks near Dictyota bartayresiana and Turbinaria ornata on a coral reef. Susbtrates were located at 1 cm, 10 cm and 100 cm, both upstream and downstream of each algal species. Study was conducted on a fringing reef on the north coast of Mo'orea (French Polynesia). Bacterial assemblages were characterized by 16s rDNA amplicon sequencing (V3-V4 regions).
