Data on the Dimensions of Privacy as a Value

This datapackage contains the datasets and analysis files for the two studies in the project 'A multi-dimensional scale of privacy-as-a-value: Interactional, online, and observational privacy'. The data were collected as part of the Master Thesis projects of L.E. Jansen and T.M.L. Markink at the Human-Technology Interaction program at Eindhoven University of Technology. Parts of the survey data collected in these thesis projects were re-analyzed for this project. The objective of Study 1 was to explore the dimensional structure of privacy values. The objective of study 2 was to confirm the dimensional structure of Study 1, and to investigate the relationship between the privacy values and the 19 values in Schwarz's theory of basic human values. The data for both Study 1 and 2 were collected by means of a cross-sectional online survey amongst a sample of the UK population using the Prolific participant database. Both online surveys were designed in LimeSurvey.
