VPRS 11488 Teacher Examination Entry Forms

This series was created to retain a record of teachers who had sat for certain teacher related examinations between the years 1959 and 1973. As at January 1998 it is not known whether other records exist. The records themselves are copies of the examination entry form (the original was handed to the applicant) and in many cases include a copy of the receipt issued by the Department for examination fess received. Content includes: examination number, the name of the examinee, teacher record number, subject entered for, grade (meaning the level of the subject), whether the examination relates to theory or practice and result achieved (this section is not always filled in, particularly after 1970). Other information includes the name and address of the school where the examination is to take place. The form is signed by the applicant and the head of the school. Although the majority of examinations are for primary or secondary teachers, there are also entry forms for examinations relating to Infant Teachers and Elementary Singing Teachers.
