VPRS 15989 Notice Papers, Mayor's Reports and Statements

This series comprised business and notice papers for ordinary and special meetings of the Council. They contained the dates and times of meetings as well as minutes and reports of various committees relating to the proposed agenda. The records also contained summaries of ordinary business to be conducted at the meeting, and included a summary financial statement of the expenditure of committees.In later years, the information contained in the records was more comprehensive about the issues to be raised, committee reports and expenditure, and the income of the Council from the period from one meeting to the next.The format of the records varies. The earliest records in this series were loose documents. From September 1902, the notice papers were bound in volumes for each financial year. An annual Mayor's Report was included at the end of each volume. These reports summarised various activities in the municipality including changes to the membership of the council and its representatives on various boards.Records for 1953 and 1954 are not in this series.
