THE ROLE OF SMART GRID TECHNOLOGIES IN THE MODERNIZATION OF THERMAL POWER PLANTS

This thesis analyzes in detail the role of Smart Grid technologies in the modernization of thermal power plants, their technical and economic efficiency, their importance in improving control systems, and their contribution to the sustainable development of the energy sector. It also examines existing problems of thermal power plants and highlights the potential of digital technologies, automated control systems, artificial intelligence, and data analytics in addressing these issues. The study substantiates that the implementation of smart grids enables integrated management of energy generation, transmission, and consumption processes, reduces losses, improves system reliability, and minimizes environmental impact.
