Region harboring genes involved in magnetosome formation in Candidatus Desulfamplus magnetomortis strain BW-1. Desulfamplus magnetovallimortis BW-1

Candidatus Desulfamplus magnetomortis strain BW-1 is a magnetotactic bacterium able to biomineralize magnetite and greigite magnetosomes allowing magnetotaxis. In the genome of strain BW-1 there is 2 clusters of genes in close proximity that are thought to be involved for the first one in magnetite biomineralization and for the other in greigite formation. In this project we are submiting the region harboring these two clusters that present homologous genes that have been shown to be involved in magnetite or greigite formation in other magnetotactic bacteria.
