The residue recovered from the bottom of an Anasazi black-on-white bowl
found in Burial 4 of Group 4 in the Bob Shields Ruins near Goodman School in
Montezuma County, Colorado by Cliff Chappell in April of 1961 was examined for
pollen and fibers. This bowl had been exposed to the air for many years. Pollen
and fiber analysis of the residue in the bottom of this vessel was designed to
identify the composition of the residue.
