In this study we characterized the actinobacterial communities of the upper layers of deep-sea sediments from two oceans: the Artic and the Atlantic (Azores and Madeira) employing 16S rDNA metabarcoding analysis, and studied the diversity and the biosynthetic potential of cultivable actinobacteria retrieved from those samples.
