Analysis for the regulation of transcriptional elongation of HIV-1 transcript by proviral non-coding RNA. Human immunodeficiency virus 1

It has been known that latently infected HIV-1 escapes from host immune system or anti-retroviral drugs. In latently infected resting T cells from HIV-1 infected patients on HARRT, it has been reported that proviral abortive short transcript is seen. In this study, I hypothesized that proviral short transcript is somehow related to the latent infection process of HIV-1 in resting T cells. I will elucidate how the proviral short transcript acts in latently infected resting T cells.
