资源简介:
âDiarrheal disease is a leading cause of child mortality and morbidity in the worldâ (WHO, 2017), where enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) accounts for a majority of cases worldwide due to contaminated food or water which contain human or animal feces. The proposed project aims to better understand the population structure of ETEC isolated from humans, animals and from environemntal sources, such as water and sediment. Using whole genome sequencing, short and long read sequencing, of a large set of ETEC strains from various sources we will gain key insights on how ETEC has evolved over time and across different hosts.
