Profiling Chinese Neijuan: the diversity of subtypes and their association with psychological outcomes and sociocultural predictors

The current study explored individual perceptions and responses to Neijuan. We conducted a latent profile analysis (LPA) on two independent Chinese samples, unveiling four distinct profiles, each characterized by unique patterns. We then examined the differences among distinct profiles on various psychological outcomes (e.g., state anxiety, life satisfaction), which found individuals in different profiles displayed different levels of psychological challenges. We further revealed that socioeconomic status and cultural environment were pivotal predictors on the likelihood of being distinct profiles.
