During chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia, a rod-shaped bacterium was isolated from the blood of a patient who developed bacteremia. At first, this bacterium was thought to belong to Lachnoanaerobaculum gingivalis based on the result of 16S rRNA gene analysis, but reanalysis of the 16S rRNA gene and biochemical analysis of lipid and sugar metabolism suggested to new species. Therefore, we determined whole genome sequencing of this strain and compared it with related species.
