Out-of-Plane Parallel Current in MMS Dayside EDR Events

Data from MMS's Fast Plasma Investigation (FPI) and Fluxgate Magnetometer instruments which was used to generate current densities through the curlometer method (Dunlop et al. 1988), which we call Jcurl. We then use this current density, along with the magnetic field vector B, to generate the current density components parallel and perpendicular to B. These components allows us to find the out-of-plane, parallel current's contribution to the total out-of-plane current (eq. 3 in Beedle et al. 2025).
