Incidence of powdery mildew of pomegranate was observed in Karnataka, India and morphological observations revealed that the causal organism belonged to genus Erysiphe. Total genomic DNA was isolated and ITS region was amplified using Primer pair ITS1/4. ~ 600 bp was amplified and sequenced. BLAST analysis indicated that the fungus showed 99.32% nucleotide similarity with Erysiphe spp. reported from different hosts.
