资源简介:

This repository contains the key supporting data (in the netcdf format) for the following paper:Wei, X., Zhang, R. Impacts of Eastern Arctic Eurasian Basin Water Mass Properties on the AMOC and Beaufort Sea Atlantic Water Layer In this study, Control and Robust Diagnostic Calculations (RDC_Eura) ensembles are conducted using a coupled climate model (GFDL CM2.5). The anomaly is defined as the difference between the RDC_Eura and Control ensembles (anomaly = RDC_Eura - Control). This paper investigates the impacts of the eastern Arctic Ocean water mass properties on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and the Beaufort Sea thermal structure. Descriptions of data files in this repository: Main figures: 1. Figure 1(c-d) in the paper. Basin-mean of the eastern Eurasian Basin annual-mean potential temperature and salinity for Control, RDC_Eura, and anomalies (RDC_Eura - Control) averaged over the last 40 years. Fig1_EB_TS.nc 2. Figure 2 in the paper. Climatology and anomalies of density-space AMOC streamfunction (Sv) across Arctic-Atlantic Gateway sections averaged over the last 40 years. Fig2_AAgateway_AMOC_streamfunction.nc 3. Figure 3 in the paper. Climatology and anomalies of density-space AMOC streamfunction (Sv) across the OSNAP section averaged over the last 40 years. Fig3_OSNAP_AMOC_streamfunction.nc 4. Figure 4 in the paper. Basin-mean of the Canadian Basin and Beaufort Sea annual-mean potential temperature for Control, RDC_Eura, and anomalies (RDC_Eura - Control) averaged over the last 40 years. Potential temperature at the transect across the Arctic in Control and RDC_Eura. Fig4_Canadian_BS_transect_T.nc Acknowledgments We acknowledge the use of the following datasets and model code in this study: The World Ocean Atlas 2013 (WOA13) data were downloaded from the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/oceans/woa/WOA13/DATAv2/). The AMOC observations across the OSNAP section over the period of 2014-2020 were downloaded from https://doi.org/10.35090/gatech/70342. The long-term mean AMOC reconstruction from Zhang and Thomas 2021 (ZT21) is available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4749734. The source code of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) coupled climate model version 2.5 (CM2.5) is publicly available at https://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/cm2-5-and-flor-quickstart/.
