WGS of clinical Escherichia coli isolates from maternity wards of Russian hospitals

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of E. coli isolates obtained from maternal birth canal of healthy postpartum women 3-4 days after labor. According to whole-genome sequencing data a variety of genetic lines (31 sequence types) and six phylogenetic groups characterized the isolate collection composing 53 strains. The majority of the isolates belonged to B2 phylogroup.
