This dataset is a repository of supplementary materials and data packages associated with the article titled 'Putative mapping of α subunits in the human brain – a PET study of GABAA receptor binding' by Zsolt Cselényi et al. 2025. The main contents are the non-cortical volumetric and cortical surface maps which correspond to different components of flumazenil binding in the human brain. The component maps were obtained using an occupancy model following administration of one of two drugs, each with a different affinity profile compared to each other or to flumazenil. Each component corresponds to a variant of GABAA receptors (GABAARs) according to the α subunit type at the flumazenil (benzodiazepine) binding site. The component map names indicate the putative identification of the corresponding α subunit(s). The maps are provided in three variants: 1. fractional contribution maps show the fraction of flumazenil binding attributable to a given component, 2. absolute binding cotribution maps show the flumazenil binding itself attributable to a given component (binding potential, BPND values), 3. absolute benzodiazepine density maps show the (approximate) density of benzodiazepine receptors attributable to a given component (Bmax values in pmol/ml units). Moreover, the overall flumazenil binding (BPND) and benzodiazepine density (Bmax) maps are also included. The maps are available in cvs_avg35_inMNI152 (re-reconned) template space, and are accompanied with additional data to support viewing and using them, such as cortical surface meshes, atlas label files, colorscales, etc.
