Diaphorobacter caeni strain: LI3 Genome sequencing. Diaphorobacter sp. LI3

Diaphorobacter caeni LI3, a unique bacterium that was isolated from paddy soil showed the ability of nitrate-reducing Fe(II) oxidation under anoxic conditions. As revealed by phylogenetic analysis, the 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain LI3 only showed a similarity of 96.9% with Acidovorax wautersii NF 1078T, a type strain in Acidovorax genus. On the basis of the phylogenetic, phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, and genomic characteristics, strain LI3T represents a novel species of the genus Diaphorobacter, with the name Diaphorobacter caeni sp. nov. being proposed.
