The series reflects the Electricity Commission’s strategic planning and restructuring in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and include corporate plans, the issue of decentralisation and EEO polices. The files also relate to environment health and safety matters associated with power production; to environmental degradation and to research and development into environmentally sustainable power in the future. In addition the files with media coverage of the Electricity Commission’s operations (press, radio and television); advertising campaigns to promote the corporate image; and to educational initiatives, aimed at the general public and within schools, to promote an understanding of modern power production.
