"Propulsion systems in multirotor unmanned aerialvehicles (UAVs) generate structural vibrations that degradeinertial sensor measurements and influence onboard sensingperformance. This study experimentally investigates vibrationpropagation in a quadrotor UAV using a dual-IMU sensingframework. In the first stage, inertial and barometric datarecorded by the flight controller during three autonomousflights were analyzed to identify propulsion-induced vibrationsignatures. Spectral analysis revealed a consistent dominantvibration component near 55 Hz across all flights. In the secondstage, vibration propagation was measured using two synchronized MPU6050 inertial sensors mounted at the motor arm andcentral avionics plate, with data logged using a Raspberry Pi at43 Hz. Experimental results show that vibration levels at themotor arm are approximately 50 times higher than those measured at the central plate during ground tests and nearly 100times higher during hover flight. These results experimentallyquantify structural attenuation of propulsion-induced vibrationin multirotor UAV frames and provide practical insight for sensorplacement and vibration isolation in UAV sensing systems."
