Perception of the Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education among 10th and 11th grade students participating in the LAB KIDS experience seedbed at the University of Santander

This research aroses about the interest from Early Childhood Educatin program at UDES about the perception perception of young people approaching high school graduation about the profession, since this preconceived image influences the choice of the program, addressing the Colombian national context related to the labor supply and demand of teachers in early childhood education and the stigmas present in society the question arises: What are the aspects that influence the perception of young applicants when choosing the Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education program at UDES?. To this end, a qualitative descriptive methodology with hermeneutic analysis was designed, using a semi-structured interview about the concept of education, early childhood education, and the role of early childhood teachers as an information-gathering tool, applied with the focus group technique. The questions and answers are presented in the transcripts of the voice recordings taken. It was possible to conclude the importance that participants attached to early childhood education, proposing improvements to make it more student-centered, with a need to explore the psychological and sociocultural aspects in greater depth.
