Data for "Polarization enhancement of contrast through a water surface"

In this project, we imaged underwater scenes from above water and characterized the improvement of scene contrast when adding a vertical polarizer. We characterized this improvement as a function of angle and while changing variables such as the color of the reflected background. This dataset includes the images used in this study. For folders with RGB data, the folder contains four raw images at each angle saved as a .png file. For folders with monochrome data, the folder contains an average of four raw images per angle saved as a .mat file.
本研究中,我们于水面上方采集水下场景图像,并量化分析了加装垂直偏振片(vertical polarizer)后场景对比度的提升效果。我们将该对比度提升效果表征为偏振角度的函数,并同步调整反射背景颜色等变量以探究其对提升效果的影响。本数据集包含本研究使用的全部图像数据。对于存储RGB数据的文件夹,每个偏振角度对应4张原始图像,均以.png格式保存;对于存储单通道灰度数据的文件夹,每个偏振角度对应的4张原始图像的平均值以.mat格式保存。
