Deletion of ppe64 in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) H37Rv abolishes the ability of Mtb to utilize heme as an iron source. A suppressor mutation in the ppe64 deletion strain allows the mutant strain to utilize heme again. This data includes whole genome sequences of wild type, ppe64 mutant and ppe64 suppressor mutant.
